He's back....! I've recovered from my shoulder surgery and I'm back to gigging again. Yeah!

I played Friday and Saturday at the Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival - always one of my favorite gigs - and I'm currently doing a duo with my old friend Tone Summers at the Acres Distillery. (see calendar for details.) Can't wait to see all of you again. The band is not up and running yet, but I will keep you posted.

NOTE: Join our mailing list! (We promise, no ads and no pop-ups!) In return we'll fly you four unreleased songs unavailable anywhere else. Just scroll down to the bottom to see where to join up. Our sole purpose in doing this is to provide you (our fans!) with free downloads, and in the future, select studio cuts and videos; we'll also let you know when we're doing a show in your area. Thanks for joining. We love you!!!

The Plastic Gravity Band is the brainchild of Kelly, a journeyman musician who plays acoustic, dobro and electric guitars, harmonicas, bass guitar, piano, organ, synthesizers and drums. He started out playing banjo and mandolin in bluegrass bands. This enables the band to present a variety of sounds and songs usually impossible for a three-piece combo. Working out of the Fort Worth-Dallas area, Kelly's past bands include "The View" and "Poker Face". The Views' songs received airplay ("Shake it on Down Tonight" for one), and Poker Face was named best local band by a Star-Telegram reader poll during the bands' heyday.

Plastic Gravity's song list ranges from from classic to modern rock, blues and country, with influences thrown in from just about every musical genre. Along with a "Texas Tribute", they also give a nod to artists as varied as Neil Young, Billy Joel, Green Day, Jimi Hendrix, and STP. As a BMI songwriter since the age of 16, Kelly has written "...more songs than I can remember". Give a listen to some of the songs on the audio page. The bands' governing philosophy is very simple - to entertain you.

And they do that very well!

Notes on the songs/audio player (below) by yours truly:

"Living in America" copyright 2005 Kelly I lived for 7 years just off Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth. For those of you who know the place, you know that it can be a bit...weird. And yes, I fit right in. This is from the "Polar Bear" CD.

"Doctor Johnson" copyright 2014 Kelly This is off the new "Texas Roadhouse" CD. And yes, the names have been changed to protect the guilty.

"Lies" copyright 2005 Kelly Originally written as a dig at a former girlfriend, I've decided it's more appropriately aimed at our "representatives" in government. This is also from the "Polar Bear" CD.
